The following is a list of activities at Lawrence Hall Health & Rehabilitation with which you can help:
Lawrence Hall & Rehabilitation has both morning and afternoon activities seven days a week, so there are lots of opportunities for you to volunteer. If there is a particular activity you would like to introduce to the residents or you have a special talent that you would like to share, our Activity Department would be happy to work with you.
Lawrence Memorial Hospital has other volunteer opportunities. Lawrence Memorial Hospital provides a swing bed program designed for extended patient care beyond the hospital stay. Because of the increased isolation of being away from their usual environments, these patients have a greater need for visitation. Swing Bed volunteers may provide friendly visiting, read to patients, play games, etc. This program does not require a fixed schedule.
Volunteers are needed to provide ice and water to patient rooms. Similarly, it is of great value to have volunteers deliver magazines, books, and coffee to those staying with patients. Hospital assistance volunteers are assigned to a schedule.
From time to time, the Liaison will be called upon to set up volunteers for assistance performing clerical duties, such as copying, labeling and stuffing envelopes, answering phones, filing charts, etc. These activities may be scheduled to fit the times that the volunteer is available.
In addition, Lawrence Healthcare participates in many community events in order to enhance the images of the facilities, such as health fairs, community exhibits, as well as fundraising efforts and we would also love to have volunteers.
For more information on volunteering for these activities, contact Andrea Jones at (870) 886-1265.
